Nested between the Atlantic Ocean and the Indian River Lagoon is Vero’s newest art gallery - WESTERN MASTERS.  The gallery owned and operated by S. Hallock du Pont, Jr. reflects the diverse and electic tastes of its owner.  In the early 1960's Hal started his collection focusing on early American illustrators, artists and sculptures such as W.H.D. Koerner, Norman Rockwell, Frederic Remington, HOward Pyle, Jessice Wilcox Smith, John Schoonover, Philip Goodwin, Stanley Arthurs and NC Wyeth.

Hal later expanded the collection by including works by reknown artists such as F.T.Johnson, Gayle Hoskins, Anton Fischer, Clifford Ashley, James Fetherrolf, Donald Yena, and Joe Grandee.  In more recent years, the influences of his travels to Africa has broadened the Galley’s collection to include a variety of African Wildlife Art, by re-known artists such as Grant Hacking, Julia Rogers, and John Banovich.  Complementing the gallery are bronze sculptures by Mike Barlow and Christopher Smith. Superb photography, reflecting the worldwide travels of the gallery's owner, are also represented in the broad spectrum gallery.

A sampling from the Western Master's "African Wildlife Collection" will be featured at the 2004 Safari Club International Show in Reno, Nevada this January.
